SOS issues the second in a series of videos that takes a look at the risks associated with Big Box Development. What's all this talk about a PDD?" - Konover has again submitted a PDD Application. A PDD Zoning change is required for approval of Konover's big box River Oaks proposal. Learn more about this application and what you can do to stop it. The Konover River Oaks is back it has reappeared with a new PDD proposal to the Zoning Commission. A PPD is required for Konover to build River Oaks. This defined PDD is not acceptable! Learn more from the new SOS video (see above).
The Zoning Commission will be holding a public hearing on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 7pm at Eno Hall. Please come the meeting and tell your Zoning Commissioners that this PDD proposal is unacceptable.
So the questions are:
How can Konover propose a 1 million sq ft development in residential area, while maintaining route 10 as a two lane road? What are the real traffic impacts of this development?
Is this economic development that is in keeping with the character of Simsbury?
Does this type of development really help our tax burden?
Are there more responsible ways to develop Simsbury?
What impact will this have on local merchants?
What can we do to stop this type of irresponsible development?
At SaveOurSimsbury.org we believe that through responsible education and the support of residents and merchants we can fight against this type of development in Simsbury. We plan to communicate to Simsbury residents and merchants through our website, newsletters and e-mails. Please Join SOS today to stay in touch and help us to fight this important cause.
Please show your support by writing town officials and letting them know that big-box development in Simsbury is not acceptable.
